Don’t miss this one-night-only opening weekend screening that includes an exclusive live presentation from the film’s music editor Gedney Webb.

A Dog’s Purpose, from noted director Lasse Hallström (The Cider House Rules, Dear John, The Hundred-Foot Journey), is based on the beloved bestselling novel by W. Bruce Cameron. According to the official website, “it shares the soulful and surprising story of one devoted dog (voiced by Josh Gad) who finds the meaning of his own existence through the lives of the humans he teaches to laugh and love. The family film is told from the dog’s perspective [as he passes through multiple incarnations, from a golden retriever to a German shepherd, a citified Corgi and a big old mutt]. It also stars Dennis Quaid, Britt Robertson, KJ Apa, John Ortiz, Juliet Rylance, Luke Kirby, Peggy Lipton, and Pooch Hall.” A Dog’s Purpose was produced by Gavin Polone (Zombieland, TV’s Gilmore Girls).

Following the film will be a lively and engaging presentation by the film’s award-winning music editor Gedney Webb (Chicago, The Hundred-Foot Journey). Webb will offer an insider’s perspective on the making of the film. Gedney Webb comes from the music side of the film business where he’s been a music editor for over 20 years. He’s worked with some of Hollywood’s greatest talent including Ron Howard, David Chase, Robert De Niro, Wes Anderson, and Ang Lee. Most notably, Gedney received a Golden Reel for his work on the Academy Award-winning film Chicago. Gedney is currently working on The Nutcracker and the Four Realms for Walt Disney Pictures, scheduled for a Christmas 2018 release.

A Dog’s Purpose is a highly anticipated major release film,” said FilmOneFest Managing Director Corinna Thuss. “We are thrilled to be able to offer both the film and Gedney’s presentation, and we thank him and Amblin Entertainment for their generosity. Our thanks also to Atlantic Cinemas for hosting the screening.”
