The Atlantic Highlands Arts Council is comprised of a team of dedicated volunteers who include professional artists, educators, business leaders and community organizers. We are a volunteer, non-profit 501 (c) 3 organization whose mission is to increase access to and bring contemporary art, music and film to Atlantic Highlands and the Bayshore region. FilmOneFest is a production of the Atlantic Highlands Arts Council. The volunteers and their participation include: Robert O'Connor, the FilmOneFest Director, is a practicing artist who exhibits his work nationally and internationally. He has participated and shown work in several film festivals including the Chicago Underground Film Festival. He has extensive technical experience with film and video and has served as Art Director on the short film “Allure”. He holds an MFA from Vermont College and has taught at SUNY Rockland and the The Cooper Union for the Advancement of Science and Art. Julie Gartenberg , the FilmOneFest Co-Director, holds a BA in Education. She has owned and managed numerous businesses in the printing and health fields. She is a practicing licensed massage therapist and musician. Amy Felton-Toth, the festival's Social Media Chairperson, is an installation artist and film maker. Victor Zak, journalist and former movie critic, is the festival's Food Donations Coordinator with the Atlantic Highlands Food Pantry. Lynn Fylak, the festival's Marketing Director, is the Senior Art Director at Christies' Auction House in New York City. Her work has been published and has received many awards, including a Certificate of Excellence from the American Institute of Graphic Arts. Kathleen Ligon, the festival's Communications Director, is the Coordinator of Adult Programming at Middletown Library.
Mike Scherfen
, a 27 year veteran NYC Senior Art Director, now a freelance designer and Watercolor artist, is the festival's Designer and Webmaster. Barbara Lipton,Trustee (membership co-chair) of the AHAC, is a resident of Atlantic Highlands since July, 2007 art historian, museum professional. Christina Cowell, a ballet dancer and consumer lawyer, chaired the Benefit Dinner. Harry Hukkinen, a multi-media artist, is a festival volunteer. Robert Bond, the Arts Council's Treasurer, is a lawyer and the Broker of Record and Business Manager at Better Homes Realty. Norma Turini, Arts Council Secretary, handles the festival's correspondence. Sherilyn Przelomski, PTO President and Virtual Office Manager for the Chamber of Commerce, oversees sponsorships.
Bob Mataranglo
, an award-winning video artist and animator, is the festival's Administrator of Programming and Technical Services.
